As we continue our look at the wonderful holiday collectibles, I’d like to point out some ephemera. The earliest appearance of Betty Boop in the holiday spirit is on the cover of the January 1935 Fleischer’s Animated News. FAN was the in-house newsletter of the studio and it is very difficult to find original copies, although some reproductions are available. Most originals are well in excess of $1,000 for each issue. The site also offers useful links to Betty Boop’s own Facebook and Twitter pages as well as to Fleischer Studios, where visitors can find more information about everyone’s favorite Glamour Girl.
Wednesday, Oct. 24, marks the kick off to the first big official contest for the best BETTY BOOP HALLOWEEN COSTUME PHOTO! The contest runs through Wed., Nov. 14. The winner will be selected on or about Nov. 26.
